How to Become a Member
To become a member of the IBA, please download the Membership Form (Windows: right-click the link, or Mac: ctrl-click the link; select 'save link as...') and email the completed form to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Membership no longer requires compulsory fees. However, we still have expenses: software for running the website, occasional postage, bank fees, prizes and travel awards. The IBA council makes awards to help support research and/or travel of students and scientists without institutional support. The IBA will, therefore, still need income. In lieu of “fees” we will now require donations to support the Association. In 2007-2010, 82% of our expenditure was on travel grants, bringing people to the IBA conference who could not otherwise attend.
Membership benefits include:
- receive the IBA Bulletin,
- receive regularily updated member listing (includes adresses),
- abilty to be nominated for elected council positions,
- simple personal research webpage hosted by the IBA website (conditions apply).
- Eligibility to apply for scholarships, such as support to attend IBA meetings
