Type species: Paricavea perforata d'Orbigny, 1854 (=Defrancia reticulata von Hagenow, 1851).
The status of this species (and therefore the genus) is subject to revision. The type species is considered to be a synonym of Defrancia reticulata von Hagenow, 1851, and consequently Paricavea should be considered a subjective synonym of Discocavea.
