Larwood Bryozoan Symposia
The IBA also supports a British-based yearly meeting named in honour of Gilbert Larwood, held during years where there is no IBA Conference. This informal meeting aims to bring bryozoan workers together to stimulate discussion, particularly between students and established researchers.
This series of symposia was instigated by Aaron O’Dea as a forum particularly for younger (read: poorer) bryozoologists from the British Isles to get together with each other as well as with established researchers.

4th Larwood Symposium, 9th and 10th December 2002, at the Geological Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. This was the first Larwood symposium to be held outside of the UK!
