Iodictyum phoeniceum (Busk, 1854)

Iodictyum phoeniceum is found growing on hard substrates, such as rock surfaces. It is found in southeastern Australia, but has also been recorded from the New Caledonia region (Harmer, 1934). It is identified easily by its bright pink-purple colour, which is retained in dead specimens.

A colour photograph by Karen Gowlett-Holmes is available.
