This listing has reinstated some species which need further study. The status of Adeonellopsis mucronata (MacGillivray, 1869) as a synonym of A. sulcata (Milne Edwards, 1836) is maintained, although type material of both species needs restudy. Several of the Australian Recent species which have earlier been included in the synonymy of A. mucronata or A. sulcata have been reinstated. This is based upon a personal survey of Museum Victoria collections, which demonstrate that colony form may be an important specific character. My personal view is that there are still more Australian species which are not named yet.
